B CORP
B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
ORGANIC
Certified Organic means the wines and spirits are produced from either grapes, grains or fruits that are farmed organically and without chemicals. This practice enhances biodiversity and results in better soil quality and reduced pollution from fertilizer or pesticide run-off.
Carbon Neutral
Carbon Neutral means that any CO2 released into the atmosphere from a company's activities is balanced by an equivalent amount being removed.
Zero Waste
The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.
Fairtrade
Fairtrade is a system of certification that aims to ensure a set of standards are met in the production and supply of a product or ingredient. For farmers and workers, Fairtrade means workers' rights, safer working conditions and fairer pay.
1% for the planet
1% for the Planet was founded to prevent greenwashing, certify reputable giving and provide accountability. The 1% for the Planet certification is given to businesses and individuals that meet the high-bar commitment—donate 1% of annual sales or salary to environmental causes.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
Renewable Energy provides reliable power supplies and fuel diversification, which enhance energy security, lower risk of fuel spills, and reduce the need for imported fuels. Renewable energy also helps conserve the nation's natural resources.
PLASTIC FREE
Plastic Free applies to an item and its packaging, meaning both content and sales packaging have to be free of plastics.
LOCALLY SOURCED
The USDA defines “local” as a measurable distance between food production and consumption that is four hundred miles or less. Anything sourced from a longer distance would not be considered local. Local ingredients create important economic opportunities, provides health benefits and helps to reduce environmental impact.
Recycled Materials
Recycled Materials means that the bottle has been made using a “waste” material. This might be waste from their own manufacturing process or another manufacturer’s.
Repurposing waste to use in new products is one way to recover its value as wetry to move away from a linear economy and towards a circular economy.
