The Bollinger family have been making Champagne since 1829 and they are probably the most famous family-owned Champagne house. The Special Curvée is their house style, made mainly from Reserve wines, some of which have been aged for more than 15 years. It is made from 60% Pinot Noir grapes (plus 25% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier) which gives it a beautiful golden colour. On the nose it shows ripe fruits and spices, while on the palate there are also some nutty notes and a lovely complexity.

The Bollinger vineyard has obtained certifications that attests of its good viticulture practices:

In 2012, the Bollinger vineyard was certified “High Environmental Value”, making it the 1st vineyard of a Champagne House to ever receive this distinction.
In 2014, Bollinger is the 1st house ever to obtain the new certification “Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne” for its vineyard.
